Fostered to Flourish is a personal blog dedicated to sharing more about life after foster care, providing educational tools and creating space for community.
Though my intended audience is former foster youth, my goal remains the same for anyone: Connect on the daily challenges and triumphs of life, while learning and growing together. This is a space where I share my story and provide valuable insights about navigating difficult situations, giving yourself grace, and celebrating resilience.

As the author and editor of Fostered to Flourish, I am choosing to remain anonymous, but that may change once I get more comfortable with this little creative space I’m creating on the internet. Until then…
Hello, I’m a former foster youth and the writer behind Fostered to Flourish. When I’m not sharing stories, I am often exploring the outdoors, sipping on an ice-cold Diet Coke, watching The Walking Dead, or unwinding with a paintbrush in hand. This space is where my experiences meet my passions, and I’m so glad you’re here!
What’s My “Why”?
I think it’s important to note, I am still in bloom. Even at almost 30 years old, I am still learning that “success” looks different for me than it might for someone else, and that is a big part of why I started this blog. I want to unpack my biases, redefine “success,” and be a guiding voice to anyone else who might feel like they will never reach the finish line–spoiler alert, there is no finish line, it’s all about the journey. This self-inflicted journey is completely what you make of it, which is the hardest part of all. That is why I started this blog. When I was going through my teens and 20’s, arguably some of the hardest years in a former foster youth’s life, I lived on social media, but I never came across someone who had been in my shoes and showcased how they overcame certain challenges. Now, in a slightly better, but still not perfect place, I feel like I have enough skin in the game and knowledge in my back pocket to warrant some sort of guiding presence online. So, here I am, proving to myself that I am not made of glass and opening my heart up, hoping that even if I were to help one person, I would be making an impact greater than I could have ever imagined.
